What Causes Eczema: Eczema – Causes, Symptoms and Diagnosis

Eczema is a skin condition characterised by a red, itchy rash and blister. In eczema the skin often crust and scales.

These symptoms may appear on any part of the body, and at any time of life, including infancy. Since there are a number of different kinds of eczema, it is often necessary to have the precise condition diagnosed and treated by a dermatologist. If eczema is neglected, it may become aggravated. It is not contagious.

Eczema may occur if the skin is excessively oily or dry. Repeated irritation by domestic cleanser, alkalies or grease solvents may cause it. The condition is sometimes an allergic reaction to substances such a rubber, metal and paints, or to drugs such as barbiturates and sulphonamides. In such cases, test can be made on the skin to determine the extract cause or causes (there may be several). Allergic eczema may be prevented by avoiding the cause, and some types clear up without treatment.

Eczema may also occur with no obvious cause. It is  particularly trying for infants, who become restless and irritable. Using sedatives and often hydrocostisone akin cream is rapidly effective in most cases.

Its is basically a constitutional disease resulting from toxic condition of the system. The oozy fluid from this dries to form a crust which is very itchy. Scratching this leads to  infection and long time healing.

Some people are also allergic to some fruits and vegetables.

It can also be due to certain medication which does not agree with one’s constitution.

It can also happen when the skin comes in contact with  metals,  jewellery, plants, etc.
