Sunburn Preventions using your Kitchen’s Ingredients
Many phytochemical substances that naturally occur in fruits and vegetables, grains and other plant foods are antioxidants. Healthy eating containing 2 or 3 SPF daily will reduce the damage to some extent.

Try the following before venturing out in the sun:
- Drink plenty of lemon juice before stepping out.
- As a daily routine incorporate cucumber in your diet.
- Take regularly vitamins A, C, and E.
- Daily boil three tomatoes for two minutes and then eat it. It is an excellent source or anti-oxidant of fight the free radicals and postpone ageing to a large extent though it can’t totally arrest it.
- During summer time, if you have to be out in the sun for a long time, drink a lot of water at regular intervals.
- Drink buttermilk or take yogurt.

- Grate cucumber and apply generously over sunburns.
- Add 3/4 cups curd to 2 well mashed tomatoes and apply over effected areas. Wash after two or three hours when it has completely dried.
- Take juice of lime and add to one well beaten egg white. Heat this and mixture on a pan on a low heat. When it thickens remove, cool and apply on the face. Wait for 30-40 minutes and then wash off.
