Drink Water to Help Relieve Skin Problems

The source of life is water. It is as important to life as is our food. There are many theories and beliefs regarding ‘drinking water’.
- Drink at least eight glass of water every day, not counting the tea, coffee or juice that you drink.
- Drink one litre of water on an empty stomach as soon as you wake up in the morning. This will flush out all the toxins from your body.
- Drink water just before food to reduce the food intake. a tip for dieters.
- Drink water corresponding to body weight in the ratio of 1:10. Anything drunk above this is a bonus the skin.
In ayurvedic therapy, water is drunk according to one’s skin type.
- Sensitive skin: Sip hot water.
- Dry skin: Drink warm water.
- Oily skin: Drink boiled water cooled to room temperature.
- Normal skin: Any kind of water is suitable.
Ice water is not advocated in ayurvedic therapy as they inhibit the digestive fire which leads to improper digestion. Undigested food will lead to breakout and a horny skin.
Drink plenty of water to keep the skin moist, sonft and clear. It helps against wrinkles and premature ageing. The human body is made up of 50% to 70% water. Three quarters of its lost through urine, perspiration, and not an extract barometer to drink water. Whether it is winter or you stay in an air-conditioned room will not infused thirst, so don’t forget your sips of water.
Boil water and filter it before drinking to kill bacteria. Water which has not been boiled will be cause of many diseases like cholera, typhoid, jaundice, gastritis, etc.
Water not only keeps the skin shiny and glowing but also leads to a better health. Water is the pivot for so many activities on our body. Friction bath with warm water will promote circulation, and keep the sweet pores clean to throw out unwanted salts from the body.
More than two-thirds of the body weight is water. It is an essential constituent of the cells. It is what keeps it all going and flowing; it is what keeps all the other nutrients happy inside the little cells. Water maintains balance and harmony.
Protein foods are ones that don’t contain a great deal of water. When you are in the protein rich diet drink a lot of water, because it suck water out of your cells.
Not only do blood and other body fluid contain water but water is stored in all the tissue and cells. Although skin is a large water tank yet is sometimes dry and flaky with itchiness. It is because sufficient water is not present in the right place.
During bath two ounces of water is absorbed by the skin. This does not go any deeper than the surface cells. It stays on the skin for less than 10 minutes after which it evaporates and leave the skin dry, if a proper moisture is not used. The cream to be more effective should applied soon after the bath when the body is wet. It will spread easily on the body.
Our body has its own mechanism to prevent the moisture loss. The epidermis, which is the protective outer layer, consists of oil, amino acid, sugar compounds and other elements. All this blend with water and help from evaporation. It is absorbed by the cells of horny layer of the top surface. Due to the presence of water the skin remains supple, resilient, smooth and retains elasticity.
Though we give so much of importance to water we should not forget that excess of it is equally disastrous. If we work in water for long hours the skin on our hands and feet will shrivel up and form ulcers and weeping eczema. This leads to itching and infections. Added to this, harsh detergents act on hand and feet and eat them up leading to serious conditions. It is inevitable that precautions be taken. Apply oil or cream every time when the work is over.
