Corn and Calluses

A corn is a localised thickening of the skin, specially on the toes and heels extending into the subcutaneous tissue. It is small and painful, formed as a result of pressure on the toes and heels. Incorrect footwear is one of the main causes of corns.
A corn is always the result of pressure or friction from badly fitting shoe. It is a type of callus. Treat corn by soaking the foot in hot water, and then scraping or rubbing away the thickened skin with an emery board. A pad may relieve pressure.
There are few remedies which can be easily done at home. That will be the subject of my next post. Watch out for it!
